Question

Answer

Yes; however, it will be closed during the dinner service but will re-open for the party.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

YES! With so many friends and family with children I want to welcome them and let them celebrate with us! There will be games during the social and the reception to keep everyone entertained, as well as kid goody bags for the dinner. A hot cocoa bar with cookies will also be provided during the social so they can join in the festivities!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

This is a semi-formal event, so please dress accordingly. "If the invitation says “Dressy Casual” or “Semi-formal,” women should wear a cocktail dress or a dressy skirt and top. Men should wear a suit." Please note, if you are a woman, you will want to wear longer dresses in heavier fabrics such as velvet. Don't be afraid to dress in richer colors like deep emeralds, juniper, berry red, plum, browns, grays, or blacks. Men, please wear a thicker suit jacket or a sweater underneath. As this is an Irish and Scottish affair, clan colors and knits are encouraged - but not required. You can represent your colors in anything from a tie to a shawl. Don't have a clan but want to be festive? You can wear either the Campbell plaid for my side, or you can wear the McKenzie / Mckenna plaid for Tristan's.

Question

Where can I find my Tartan or Clan Sweater?

Answer

Where to Buy Scottish Clans: https://tartanandclan.com Where to Buy Irish Clans: https://www.aransweatermarket.com/ - (Please reach out to them before ordering to find out if your size is in stock - it does take up to 12 weeks to ship if your size is not in stock.) Our Wedding Plaid / The plaid I will be wearing: https://scottishshop.com/products/witches-blood-tartan-scarf

Question

What if we show up early?

Answer

GREAT! Tristan and I will be arriving on Wednesday to attend to wedding duties but if the weather permits, Oglebay turns into a ski resort where you can ski the whole day for 20 dollars or go tubing!

Question

Is there anything I can help with?

Answer

Probably! I am sure I will need hands to help decorate tables for the reception and will need help after the reception to clean up the hall. If you would like to help with something, let me know closer to the date and time and Tristan and I can let you know what we need.

Question

Will transportation to the venue be provided?

Answer

Yes. But only if you are staying at Oglebay resort. A shuttle service will run 2 hours prior to the ceremony and will pick you up at your cabin, or in front of Wilson Lodge and take you to the Pine Room - which is the venue and is 1 mile down from the main lodge. The shuttle will run for two hours after the reception ends to take people back to their cabins or rooms - no DD required if you are staying at the resort. If you are staying outside of the resort - note that you will need to either rent a cab or rent a car from the airport if you are not driving so you can go from your hotel to the resort / venue. If you are driving because you are staying outside of the resort, please make accommodations for a designated driver as we will have an open bar and we would like everyone to leave the reception safely.

Question

The wedding is in West Virginia in January, what if it snows?!

Answer

The roads to the resort will be maintained as will all major highways in and around the state. (If you are driving, please include kitty litter, ice melt and chains for your tires just in case.)

Question

What if I, or my child, has a food allergy, should I let you know?

Answer

YES! The sooner the better that way I can make accommodations with the resort so you don't die.

For all the days along the way
