When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by March 21st. If you're planning to stay at the Grande Colonial, the room block is being held until March 20th.

What kind of weather can I expect?

Answer

April weather in San Diego is usually in the mid-60's (and hopefully sunny!) but temperatures drop at night. Our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception are all outside so bring an extra layer. You can also warm up inside Darlington House.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire. The wedding party will be in dark suits and blush dresses.

What time should I arrive at Darlington House?

Answer

The ceremony will start at 3:30pm sharp. Try to arrive by 3pm to get settled!

What will parking be like?

Answer

We will have valet parking available for any guests who choose to drive. We will also have a bus shuttling between the Grande Colonial and Darlington House before the ceremony and after the reception. For guests who don't stay at or near the Grande Colonial, Lyfts and Ubers are easy to get.

Absolutely! Let us know and we'll make sure there are plenty of available options.

Why does the reception end so early?

Answer

Darlington House is in a residential area so we will be continuing the celebration nearby at Hennessey's Tavern immediately following the reception. There will be a bus going between Darlington House, Hennessey's and the Grande Colonial starting at 9:30pm. Hennessey's is also a very short walk from the Grande Colonial and other hotels downtown.

What other events are there throughout the weekend?

There will be a casual welcome dinner at the Sefton/McKennett residence on Thursday evening for anyone who is in town early. Please let us know if you can make it so we can get an accurate headcount for the taco truck! Stop by for dinner anytime after 6pm. Join us for a drink on Friday night at the Grande Colonial. We will be out back on the terrace from 8 to 10pm. Afterwards, head inside to the main hotel bar or across the street to one of the other bars nearby!
