Our Love Story-Sarah & Michael

Sometimes love trails behind you, quietly waiting for the perfect moment. Before I ever knew who Michael was, there was this old school white car that always seemed to be in front of me on my way home. Every day around the same time, we’d end up on the same road. At the red light, that car would turn right, and I would turn left toward Perry. I’d glance over occasionally, imagining he was a family man heading home to his loving wife and a home with a white picket fence. Little did I know, that man was Michael, and that car would become a part of our love story. We first officially met in April 2022, but our very first encounter was about a year earlier. I had been sent to his job, what we call the “box shop,” to help a customer. I thought it was just another normal day at work, but he remembers it vividly. I walked into the computer room to do my job, and moments later, he walked in too…not for work, but because he saw me. Michael later admitted he was curious. It was rare for a woman to be in that space, and something about me stood out. He was interested but assumed I was married. So he said nothing. And I left, thinking I would never see him again. But fate was not done with us. A year later, Michael started working in my building as a supervisor, a title he proudly emphasized the first time I saw him again. We exchanged hallway hellos for weeks until one conversation changed everything. We found out we both had children graduating from the same high school that year, and to our surprise, we were both from Albany, Georgia. From that moment, the connection deepened. Eventually, he asked for my number. I teased, “I thought you were married,” and he assured me he wasn’t. I gave him my number, but when he didn’t call right away, I began to wonder. I even asked a friend, “Why hasn’t Michael called me?” My friend told me to be patient, and eventually, the phone rang. From that first real conversation, everything shifted. We went out on our first date to a Mexican restaurant. It was a little awkward at first, mostly because he was acting shy and I was going off his energy. Plus, Mexican food is not really my thing, but it’s his favorite. So I pretended to enjoy, the conversation flowed, and something special started to grow. On August 2, 2022, we made it official. And that mysterious white car I used to follow home? It turned out to be his all along. ⸻ 💍 The Proposal On September 1, 2024, during a trip to Savannah, Georgia to visit my daughter at college, Michael proposed. He had been unusually quiet that day, and I could sense something was on his heart. Then, in the most unexpected and perfect moment, he asked me to be his wife. I screamed. I said yes. I was soooooo happy!! I immediately called my loved ones we celebrated that weekend. The best part, my daughter was there to witness it all. ⸻ This is our love story. Written in hallway glances, quiet confidence, a single white car, and timing only God could orchestrate. On September 13, 2025, we will say “I do.” Because love didn’t just find us, it made sure we could not miss each other.
