We met at the glamorous and elegant restaurant Buffalo Wild Wings at a fun dinner with friends. Although I thought she was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen, I tried to play it cool. I acted as though I had little interest and kept her guessing all night; at least that's what I thought. I soon realized that she was not buying it at all, and saw through my silly tactics. After we had finished our meal with friends, I was nervous to make a move, but knew I couldn't lose the opportunity. As I built up enough courage to ask her out on a date, she looked at me confidently with beautiful, big, hazel eyes and said; "Lets go to Walmart, me and you." Right then I knew she was something special. We continued our refined night there, laughing the whole time. Little did this lucky man know it was only the beginning...

To start the day, we first went to La Jolla Cove, one of my favorite spots in California. We were able to find a spot with absolutely no one in sight. It was amazing. It felt like we were on a private island and it was just the two of us. After soaking up lots of vitamin D, we got some ice cream and headed to our next adventure. Jarred took me to the beautiful San Diego Temple. The second I looked at this amazing structure I felt at home. Inviting the spirit along with us on this wonderful day was just what I needed. We then made our way to the beautiful island of Coronado. This is a place my family took me as a little girl, and a place I forever hold close to my heart. He told me we were going to dinner, but he had another plan in mind. As we approached the beach at sunset, I spotted a blanket carefully laid out near a jetti. On this blanket there were candles and beautiful sunflowers. Once I saw this, I began to cry. The moment I have dreamed about since I was a young girl was really happening. He took me to this blanket and started to tell me how excited he was to take care of me the rest of his life. As he knelt down on one knee, the sun hit is eyes allowing me to see forever a little clearer. I was speechless. He asked if I would marry him and I obviously said yes! After pictures and lots of hugs, he told me he had another surprise. The day could not get any better, I thought, but it did. He took be on a romantic boat ride through the canals of Coronado. This boat ride was supposed to mimic a night in Italy, and it sure came close. We then finished the night in Old Town San Diego. He took me to an Italian restaurant called Pizza Bella. He knows how much I love little Italy in NYC, and this restaurant felt as if I transported there. I could not stop staring at him and the beautiful gem on my finger. This man knows me too well, I thought. He took the image I had of a perfect day right out of my head. I am so lucky to have him forever.

Sarah Elizabeth Lennon You are the love of my life. Truly. From the moment I met you, I knew you were someone so very special. I had never met a girl where I could immediately be myself around. I felt at home with you right away. I love how our sense of humor is a match made in heaven. I never have to force anything. i can be myself around you always, that is how I know our relationship was something so special. You are the girl of my dreams and I love you with all of my heart. I promise I will take care of you every single day, and always make sure you feel loved and feel like the queen you truly are. My goal is your happiness. You deserve the world and so much more. You are my everything, and I can't wait to take care of you until we are old and grey. Sarah Elizabeth Lennon, my sunflower, will you marry me?

I imagine Jarred and I finding joy and peace in the simplest of ways: A small house close enough to the ocean so we can fall asleep to the crashing of waves. Providing service to others to not only help those in need, but strengthen the love we have for each other. Gathering together with our kids at night so we can sing them to sleep as Jarred soothes us all with his beautiful musical talents. Adopting every cat we see despite Jarred being SO allergic. Traveling as much as we can, whether it be a short road trip or long plane ride, I want to experience everything with him. Eating warm apple pie that I have learned to make through my wonderful mother as we sit by a fireplace listening to Frank Sinatra. Watching lots of Family Feud! Making sure our home is our heaven. Enjoying time with our wonderful families and learning from them and their amazing examples. Laughing at every single thing Jarred does because he truly is the funniest person I will ever know, I am confident that whatever trials life has for us, I will always be smiling if he is around. Slow dancing in our living room despite both of us having two left feet. Lastly, remembering the importance of being present with each other, and reminding ourselves of just how blessed we truly are.
