Wedding Party

Meet our family and friends who are walking down the aisle with us.

Charlie Davis

Best Man

My father and friend, Charlie has been there for me my entire life with support, encouragement, and motivation to pursue my passions and interests. From camping trips, scouting, mountain trips, sports practices and games, to walking the dogs, finding box turtles, and chopping and stacking firewood at the farm, I cannot thank this man enough for his influence and unconditional love through it all. "A fine figure of a man. That is all you need to know." -Jeremiah Johnson

Evelyn Grace Bowers

Maid of Honor

Evelyn (or EG) is my best friend and little sister. When Sheldon and I called her to let her know that we were engaged, the first thing she said was, "So I'm the Maid of Honor, right?!" and that was that. She is the only person I would want to be my Maid of Honor -- her goofy (and sometimes twisted!) sense of humor and fierce heart always leave me in awe!

Alex Bowers

Groomsman

I have said it before, and I will say it again: Alex Bowers is the funniest man alive. I have not laughed harder or more frequently than I have in the company of this gentleman, and his hospitality is a force to be reckoned with. Working on Gravatt's staff the same summers as Alex and Louis McElveen was a true blessing, and I have never had more fun working anywhere else than I did working with these two. I have always seen Alex put other people before himself -always- and found myself humbled by his treatment of others more times than I can count. He has been so gracious and accepting of me since the day we met, and I cannot thank him enough for allowing me to become part of his family, and teaching me the meaning of brotherhood years before I thought it would even be a possibility.

Katie Clarkson

Bridesmaid

Katie is my oldest and dearest friend! She and I have been best friends since we were two years old. We have spent countless weekends and summers together swimming, singing oldies, making crazy food concoctions, and watching a plethora of silly movies and TV shows. One of my favorite memories with Katie goes back to when we were maybe 9 or 10 years old. We snuck out of church and swiped some cookies to eat at our hideout. Now she is a boss-business lady with three beautiful kiddos and amazes me everyday!

Josh Cary

Groomsman

Josh and I met during our undergraduate studies at Clemson University, and man does he love to talk about fish. As a senior-year roommate, he became one of my closest comrades, and it has been a hilarious joy watching him and his wife Bri grow together in their love and careers ever since. Humorous, kind, and resourceful don't even begin to describe him as a friend. Josh can be soft spoken, but he has one of the loudest and largest laughs in any given room, and he is an excellent example of professionalism and sincerity.

Olivia Carlile

Bridesmaid

I met Olivia in the fall of 2010 when we were suitemates at Brevard College and thus, a dynamic duo was born! We bonded over our crazy roommates, love of sweets, hiking in Pisgah, and CW tv shows. I ended up transferring to Lander University in 2012, but we have kept in contact through the years which makes my heart so very happy. I can always count on her for silly shenanigans and for THE cutest animal pics. “Did we just become best friends?" "Yep." "Do you wanna do karate in the garage?" "Yep!"

David Hutto Jr.

Groomsman

David is the Dude in every positive meaning of the word. It was only after getting to know him through Clemson's Student Chapter of the Wildlife Society that I realized how passionate people can be towards snakes, frogs, salamanders, and all manner of things that creepeth, and how important it is to share that passion and knowledge with others; his example of kindness and stewardship is one the single greatest contributors to my desire to pursue a career in teaching science. If you ever need anything, this man and his wife Mollye are guaranteed to always be there with a plan (and a snake stick), and plenty of humor and selflessness to boot.

Lillian Hardaway

Bridesmaid

Lillian and I worked at Camp Gravatt together. During the summer of 2015, we would hangout in the Holly Hut reading books, eating watermelon, and chatting about what kind of snacks to make for the staff that week -- mmm, jalapeño popper dip! In addition to being a fabulous cook, she is also a wonderful friend. I can always count on her to help me find vanilla extract at odd hours, offer some good advice (she is seriously wise beyond her years), or for a helping hand.

Louis McElveen

Groomsman

I came to know Louis working with him through several summers at Gravatt Camp and Conference Center, and he is one of the most mischievous, intelligent, and hardest working people I know. His sense of humor and blunt honesty is rivaled only by that of his wife Sam: another one of the goofiest and kindest people you can meet. Louis is unmatched in his devotion, determination, and work ethic in everything that he does, and I am truly fortunate to call him a friend. He is --the Strongest Link.

Sam McElveen

Bridesmaid

Sam and I worked at Camp Gravatt together and she is one of my favorite people on this whole entire planet! I will never forget being co-counselors in Cabin 5 one summer with seventeen campers. I already knew Sam was amazing, but working with her I knew that we would always be great friends. Sam’s zest for life radiates from her and she just shares it with everyone anywhere she goes!

Eric Winters

Groomsman

I have worked with Eric for several years now, and Sarah and I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know him. He has helped me countless nights netting for bats, tracking over and through severe terrain, and helped me through the many difficulties that come with field work, data management, and graduate research. His subtle but keen sense of humor are entertaining to pick up on, and his tastes in music and film are just as sharp. He literally kept Sarah and me sane through the first year of the pandemic as he was the only person we would spend time with or even sometimes see for weeks on end, and we can't wait to hang with him more over the years.

Jessie Kirkpatrick

Bridesmaid

I met Jessie through the MAT program at Anderson University and I am so glad I did! Jessie is who I aspire to be -- she is so stinkin' cool, quick witted, and organized (she also has a huge, kind heart -- Jessie has been known to save abandoned baby birds and wayward kittens from busy highways). She kept me sane during our time at Anderson and has made me belly laugh more times that I can count. I feel so lucky to have such a smart teacher friend to lean on and trade ideas (and cute dog pictures!) with for many years to come!

Alex Hilderbrand

Groomsman

Alex is about the closest friend I made in high school, and one of the most dedicated people I have ever met. As a cross country loyalist, he made sure that every single Friday night that every team member (including myself) attended the most sacred of dinner traditions in Aiken. Alex embodies the spirit of comradery and teamwork more than anyone I have ever known. He is now a loving husband, father, and teacher, and I still have much to learn from this salt-of-the-earth gentleman.

Hannah Jones

Bridesmaid

I also met Hannah while going through the MAT program at Anderson University. I seriously could not have survived those two and a half years without her sarcasm and great stories! She is such a bright light and one of the funniest people I have ever met, truly. Her love of chicken nuggies knows no bounds (heehee).

Paul Bowers

Groomsman

Paul was one of my first campers while working on staff at Gravatt Camp and Conference Center. He called it all before I even really knew Sarah: he told his family and sister "Sheldon should be your boyfriend," upon returning home. He were absolutely right! I have not met anyone who is more dedicated to fishing, nor who can laugh as much with his family as Paul. I knew it then and I know it still: Paul is a great camper to have, and an even greater friend (and he's got one older sister I'd fall in love with).

Haven Banks

Bridesmaid

Haven is dating my youngest brother Paul and she is just the sweetest. She has participated in family vacations, get-togethers, and holidays and I have loved getting to know her. Haven fits right in and it feels like she has always been apart of the big ol' Bowers clan!
