SNORKELING
Puerto Morelos, a charming and typically Mexican fishing village, stands out from its more sumptuous neighbors, Cancun and Playa del Carmen. CENOTES & CAVES
"Cenotes" are cool fresh water sanctuaries scattered throughout the green jungles and savannas of the Yucatan Peninsula. The entrance to magical caverns and cave passages below the earth, cenotes are created when the ceiling of a cave collapses leaving what is sometimes known elsewhere as a sinkhole. LA QUINTA AVENIDA
You can’t visit Playa del Carmen and miss walking down La Quinta, aka 5th Avenue. It’s the main walking-street lined with all manner of shops, beach bars, and restaurants. The cobbled-stoned street is where you’ll find most of the city’s nightlife. It’s a lot of fun to find a bar or cafe, sit down, and watch the (sometimes strange) parade of people walk by. *** Não se pode visitar Playa del Carmen e perder o passeio pela La Quinta Avenida, também conhecida como 5ª Avenida. THE LEANING LIGHTHOUSE
This lighthouse has become an iconic symbol of the city. You can’t visit this gorgeous town without getting a picture next to it. The strongest hurricane of the 1967 Atlantic season, Hurricane Beulah, damaged the foundations of the lighthouse hence its leaning position. Plans were made to remove the structure, but after an outcry from locals, town officials agreed that the leaning lighthouse would remain a symbol of the town’s strength. *** Este farol tornou-se um símbolo icónico da cidade. O furacão mais forte da época atlântica de 1967, o Hurricane Beulah, danificou as fundações do farol, daí a sua posição inclinada. Foram feitos planos para remover a estrutura, mas após um protesto dos habitantes locais, os funcionários da cidade concordaram que o farol inclinado continuaria a ser um símbolo da força da cidade.

ANCIENT MAYAN RUINS OF COBA
Because Tulum is so popular, the ruins can be crowded unless you arrive early in the morning. Coba is another Mayan site near Playa del Carmen which sees less visitors. You can even still climb the pyramid there too! *** Como o Tulum é tão popular, as ruínas podem ser superlotadas, a menos que chegue de manhã bem cedo.
