Camelback Mountain offers challenging hikes in Phoenix with panoramic city views via two main trails: Echo Canyon (steeper, scrambles) and Cholla (more gradual but still tough), both leading to the 2,704-foot summit, with hikers typically ascending and descending in 2-3 hours. Important Notes: • The linked Directions are to the Cholla Trailhead, the less challenging of the two hikes. • Echo Canyon Trailhead is just minutes away from the Resort. It is a *very* difficult hike. We'd like everyone to make it to the ceremony, therefore we recommend Cholla if you choose to hike Camelback. If you want a true hiking experience that is not as strenuous as Camelback Mountain, this is the local favorite. It features a wide, well-groomed trail with moderate inclines and beautiful views of the Sonoran Desert lush with saguaros.
