Sara and Tanner met at the YMCA in 2014. They became friends right away and remained good friends for the next handful of years. After college, Tanner moved back to Newark and they began spending more time together. Over time, their friendship grew into a relationship.

The week leading up to the 18th, Tanner had set the stage that on Sunday evening they would be going to The Granville Inn for dinner. Dressed and ready for dinner they went to Granville and parked a few blocks away by Denison. Tanner suggested they could walk a little to and from dinner because walking in Granville is something they enjoy doing. While walking down College Street, Tanner got down on one knee. As he was proposing, the photographer he had hired came running to capture the moment. After some photos in Granville, they were on their way to Old Bag of Nails where family and friends were waiting to celebrate.
