Its finally happening!

We met through mutual friends at a birthday party. We didn’t know at that time how close we would become! We used to get together every weekend with groups of friends and play video games from Friday to Sunday. We became inseparable. We started playing laser tag and wanted to kick it up a notch. So we all put our money together and bought an old van that we painted, decorated and named our ‘Beamerz Van’ to travel to different places to play laser tag. (Our favorite laser tag place was called Beamerz near Detroit). After many weekends of gaming, cookouts and Singstar, we became best friends.

Over the years we shared many first experiences together including Las Vegas! He took me to my first Baseball game to watch the Tigers in Detroit. Even though it rained out and we missed Easter to stay and watch them lose the next day, we had a blast! He taught me how to bowl and joined leagues together even though I was terrible and became the teams handicap. Lol I gave him his first ride on a crotch rocket (HaHa), I’m sure we looked ridiculous but we didn’t care. I taught him how to snowboard for the first time... epic fail using the dune at Tunnel Park. We didn’t realize how hard the sand was and felt like we landed on cement every time we fell! Haha I felt honored to be his guest at his Naturalization Ceremony when he became a US Citizen. This was such a special day! We were so excited to go to Canada after he received his passport, but when we arrived, Canada looked closed due to the casino being on strike for 3 months... better planning next time. Lol We can find fun in anything we do and always have a great story to tell...

After being there for each other through heartaches, we both realized how much we mean to each other. Being such good friends for so many years, we were both a little nervous to take it to the next level but couldn’t hold back our feelings that were growing into something more than just a friendship. Knowing everything there is to know about one another, it was easier than we thought. Everything came so natural, we always know what the other one is thinking and feeling. It sparked a fire that is stronger than ever and a strength that is unbreakeable.

Vegas has always been a place that we both hold special memories. Our first time in Vegas back in 2011, we found ourselves being the the only ones still wanting to party after everyone else passed out. We made our way up to the top of the Stratosphere to go on all of the rides. On our way up, they take your picture in front of a backdrop to purchase later. We were not a couple at the time, so we had a good laugh when we were told we were the cutest couple. Seven years later, we took a trip to Vegas as a couple. We made it back up to the top of the Stratosphere to go on all of the rides again. It was night and the view was amazing! I had no idea what he was about to do... We took a couple selfies with the strip in the background but couldn’t capture it all. So we asked someone if he would take our picture. I handed him my phone and ran back to my spot and smiled for the camera. Not feeling his arms around me, I look over and see him down on one knee! I about knocked him over I was so excited to say YES!
