George Washington's Mount Vernon

Walk in the first president's footsteps at Mount Vernon, George Washington's estate on the banks of the scenic Potomac River. Tour the Mansion that he shared with Martha Washington, wander the beautiful gardens, meet the farm animals and see George Washington's tomb. Inside the museum, see more than 700 artifacts, including George Washington's famous dentures. From April through October, visit the reconstructed distillery, where we make George Washington's whiskey.

Port City Brewing Company

Raise a glass of Alexandria’s award-winning craft beer from Port City Brewing Company at local restaurants and pubs, or head out to the brewery in Alexandria’s West End for a tour and events like Beer Yoga plus happenings with food trucks and live music. Port City was named the “Best Small Brewery” in the U.S. at the Great American Beer Festival in 2015 and was the first modern-day craft beer brewery in the D.C. region.

King Street Trolley

For making your way along historic King Street in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, there's no easier, quicker way than the free King Street Trolley. With stops every two to three blocks from Alexandria City Hall/Market Square to the King St - Old Town Metrorail station, trolleys provide easy on-off access to the more than 200 shops, restaurants and attractions found in Old Town Alexandria. The King Street Trolley runs every 15 minutes between Alexandria City Hall/Market Square and the King St - Old Town Metrorail station from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week, including holidays.
