Oregon farmers markets are some of the best markets you can attend, especially in July! So much fresh produce available including berry's! Look for the native marionberry (cross between blackberry and raspberry) which was developed at Oregon State University!
10 waterfalls with excellent hiking trails! Nathan has been here a handful of times, but Sara joined him in October of 2024 for a fun morning of hiking. We preferred to due the "Trail of 10 falls short loop" which encompasses 4.8 miles and takes about 2 1/2 hours. We are not avid hikers and found this very enjoyable and doable. Look at "All trails" for maps of hikes at Silver Falls
Oregon and the Willamette Valley is home to the Pinot Noir grape due to the state's cool climate. We recommend visiting a local winery to see some of the beauty that Oregon agriculture can offer. If time permits, we recommend doing the three winery itinerary listed below! However, some wineries close to Salem include: -Van Duzer Vineyards -Coria Estates -Wilamette Valley Vineyards A fun three winery tour (all within 5 minutes of each other) with a stop at a tasting room: -Furiosco Vineyards -Stoller Family Estate -Durant (also has olive oils) -Terra Vina Tasting Room
July is the perfect time to visit the Oregon Coast. Only 1 hour away, enjoy the beach, seafood, or even glass blowing! Sara and Nathan made their own vase here in 2022. Get a bowl of chowder at Mo's, take a stroll on the Taft Waterfront Beach, and grab a scoop of Tillamook ice cream. Note: If staying in Corvallis, Newport is the closest coastal town and just as fun as Lincoln City!
