Sara was pretty bummed not being able to go to visit her family for Thanksgiving 2015 and was trying to fill her time with things to do. She had been volunteering with Activate Good for over a year and saw they had an event at Ronald McDonald House the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Mohisin had been volunteering with Activate good for a few months on the weekends when he was home from traveling and thought the same event at Ronald McDonald House sounded fun to go to. Sara and Mohisin did not talk much during meal prep because they were on different tasks. During cleanup, Sara was at the washing station when Mohisin came over in a Cookout shirt (it's now Sara's favorite shirt for Mohisin to wear) and handed her a pot of mashed potatoes. As she washed the pot they started chatting. Later that evening Mohisin invited all the volunteers to dinner and Sara accepted. They ended up sitting next to each other and chatted all evening and even in the parking lot after. After that evening, Mohisin regretted not getting Sara's number because he knew he liked her. Sara decided to be brave and send him her number through Meetup. Mohisin was excited to receive the message and texted Sara back very quickly. Soon their chats got longer and longer. They started texting every day and a few weeks later he came to a Christmas party at a friend's house (where Sara learned gingerbread house making will never be his thing but eating candy always will be). A week after that they ended up volunteering at a local theater and had a blast cleaning together. (If you can have fun cleaning gross bathrooms together then you know you've found a good partner). They went out to dinner with volunteers again and this is when Sara knew she liked Mohisin. On January 2nd, 2016 Mohisin came over to help Sara install a curtain and neither of them figured it was a date, but it turned out to be. Since that first text they've chatted every day and hope there's never a day they don't communicate in some form.
