Quick tip for getting to the lodge: Approaching from Route 71 (Hiawatha Pioneer Trail) will be a much calmer drive than 178 (E 8th road). 178 has more twists and turns, and passes by the starved rock visitor center, not to be confused with our location, the lodge, which is at the top of the hill.
