Orcas Island Scenic Byway
This self-guided tour features highlights of the Emerald Isle! This beautiful and rugged island ranges from quiet beaches to the 2,409-foot-summit of Mt. Constitution. One main road connects the various hamlets on Orcas, and this 2- to 3-hour tour touches on the island’s highlights and hidden gems. Most stops are part of the state San Juan Islands Scenic Byway, designated for their unique beauty and cultural significance.

Mount Constitution

Check out the gift shop and learning center operated by the Friends of Moran, which offer maps, gifts, cards and information about the park and its history
Moran State Park
There are so many things to do at Moran State Park! -Cascade Lake: Swim, kayak, canoe, or fish in Cascade Lake, a picturesque freshwater lake located within the park. Orcas Adventures offers a variety of boat rentals and fishing opportunities. -Hiking Trails: Explore a variety of hiking trails ranging from casual nature walks to more challenging hikes, offering opportunities to experience the park's diverse landscapes, including forests, lakes, and waterfalls. -Mountain Biking: Hit the mountain biking trails that wind through the park's forests and hills, offering thrilling rides and beautiful scenery. Trails are open for biking mid-September through mid-May. -Picnicking: Enjoy a picnic with family and friends at one of the many picnic areas scattered throughout the park, some of which offer stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. -Wildlife Viewing: Keep an eye out for the park's diverse wildlife, including deer, birds, and maybe even a glimpse of bald eagles soaring overhead.

Friday Harbor
If you want to escape to a slower pace, you’ll be enchanted by Friday Harbor—a charming, historic, walkable seaport just steps from the ferry landing, with small, friendly shops and restaurants, and a refreshing absence of fast-food chains. In this visitor-, family-, and dog-friendly town, you’ll find many of the San Juans’ whale and kayaking tour headquarters, The Whale Museum, the San Juan Islands Museum of Art, the San Juan Community Theatre for plays and musical events, the San Juan Historical Museum, and so much more. There's no need for a car to see Friday Harbor. Everything is within walking distance of the ferry landing, and it is easy to get around, including shuttle buses and a trolley to take you around the island, as well as bike, three-wheeled Scootcoupe, and moped rentals. From Friday Harbor you can also catch an inter-island ferry to Lopez, Orcas, and Shaw Islands.
