Jay and I know there is a lot of uncertainty right now with the COVID-19 virus. We have pushed back the wedding date and will be having a private civil ceremony. As soon as things calm down we hope to have a reception and will contact everyone when that is going to happen! Thank you all for your love and support!
Welcome to Our Wedding Website! We are so excited to have you celebrate our wedding with us! We have decided that each of us will share our perspective of how we met and our story. Enjoy! Sara's Perspective: My job takes me to many rural areas where the dating scene is anything but hopping. After many failed attempts at online dating I decided to give it another try. Just as my subscription was about to expire Jay messaged me. I decided to respond to his message and thus started a stilted yet interesting conversation. I soon found that we have many interests in common and that our conversations flowed easily. After a couple of weeks of chatting we finally went on our first date. I thought it went splendid, he thought he bombed it! After a few more dates Jay realized I wasn't going anywhere and that it didn't go as bad as he thought. Even his three wonderful and rambunctious boys couldn't scare me away! Jay's Perspective: Much the same as Sara, the dating scene was not very robust when in a more rural close knit community. So I had decided to jump into online dating but my first attempt did not go well so I was hesitant to try again. It took me a couple of days to be able to send the first message to Sara and hopefully not sound too creepy while trying to break the ice. It took a while of messaging back and forth but we soon found that we shared a lot in common and soon moved onto our first date. I was nervous and thought I had bombed the date but that being said, we have enjoyed every opportunity together since then. After the first date we became even more comfortable and were able to connect on a deeper level and then came the next milestone of our relationship; meeting my kids. It only took a few minutes but the bond they created while getting to know each other showed me that she was the one and really was the catalyst in moving our relationship to where I knew I needed to propose to this wonderful woman who wanted to share her life with me.
One of our favorite activities to do as a couple is to go on walks together. We walked almost three miles around the local park on our first date and since then have put in many more miles. So it was fitting that the proposal happened out on a walk in the forest behind my house. We walked for several minutes enjoying the sun setting through the trees when Jay knelt down and asked me to marry him. I immediately said yes and the rest is history! We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives together with you!
