It was Sara's freshman orientation weekend at Johnson State College and she was going to the club fair. The plan was to sign up for Model UN. Hayes was looped in to working the club fair since he was the only member who lived near campus. It really was the saddest booth in all the fair. Everyone else had photos, posters, and many people to advertise their club. The Model UN table was different. There was a piece a paper with the club's name printed on it and taped to the front. All there was on the table was a notebook and a pen, with one Hayes behind it. Sara made a beeline for the table to put her name down. Without speaking, she took the pen and put her name down (the only name to be written from this club fair). She dropped the pen and gave Hayes a thumbs up, then walked away. And there it is... our first interaction. We knew each other vaguely through the meetings for the club but we didn't become friends until our trip to Boston in February 2017. We became fast friends from there, soon serving as the President and Vice President of the Model UN club and sitting in many classes together. We eventually got together in November 2018, much to the "shock" of friends and family.

February 16-19, 2017 Our first Model UN trip to Boston, where we first became friends. Sara was shot gun in Hayes's car because Nick dropped her off too early and she was standing in the cold, without a coat. Hayes helped her with her bags and it was the start of a beautiful friendship. Fall Semester 2017 Sara moves into Arthur's Hall. Hayes has a place to go in between classes now. Sara's roommate becomes confused by our friendship, since we were clearly cuddling while watching TV. September 12, 2017 Sara and Hayes are elected President and Vice President of Model UN-for the first time February 15-18, 2018 Our second Model UN Trip to Boston July 13-16, 2018 We go on our first vacation together to Sara's Uncle Ronnie's house, Rhode Island, and down the Cape. July 30, 2018 Sara is having surgery the next day and is nervous. Hayes drives to Jeffersonville to watch a movie with her until it's time to go to sleep to help calm her. Fall Semester 2018 Sara is now an RA in Arthur's Hall and has her own room. Hayes helps move her into her room. He takes advantage of her own room and starts keeping food and drink for himself. November 18, 2018 Sara and Hayes finally get together and go on their first official date to Hoagie's and to see a play at Dibden. December 25, 2018 Hayes buys Sara a beautiful necklace that she still wears everyday. February 14-17, 2019 Sara and Hayes's first (and last) Model UN trip as a couple. May 2019 Hayes graduates college! Yay! January 2020 Sara was in a bad living situation with a roommate. Luckily, Lisa and Shane gave up their basement for her to move in to live with Hayes. March 2020 Sara's student teaching is cancelled due to COVID. Sky and Kaylie move in from Florida. The creation of the Walker Compound. May 2020 Sara graduates college! Yay! July 12, 2021 Sara and Hayes buy a house in Barre, VT and start renovations (thank goodness for Lisa and Shane). September 11, 2021 Sara's in person graduation ceremony. Hayes proposes that night (see more details below) September 18, 2021 Sara and Hayes move into their first home together! April 5, 2022 Sara and Hayes had a wedding date set but realized it was way too much money and why wait to make our accountant mad for another year? A new wedding date is set-July 23, 2022!

Sara's college graduation was continuously delayed due to COVID but was eventually set for 9.11.2021. Sara had mentioned to Hayes how after the ceremony could be a good time to propose, since she wanted to be around family. Unfortunately for Hayes, the ring was delayed so he couldn't propose on campus. Luckily, it arrived while we were having Sara's graduation party at our new house we bought just a few weeks before. Hayes proposed in our backyard. We are so exited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you! See you in Stowe!
