Our wedding attire is Summer Formal. For the gentlemen, we recommend suits, ties, and dress shoes. For the ladies, we encourage midi or maxi-length dresses in fabrics and styles that feel festive and appropriate for a summer celebration. If you'd like a little inspiration, our wedding palette includes shades of olive and sage green, brown, navy, dusty blue, mauve, blush, and other soft, romantic summer tones. Florals and prints are always welcome, though there is absolutely no requirement to coordinate with our colors. Please note that portions of the ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outdoors on grass, so we recommend choosing footwear accordingly. Most importantly, wear something you feel comfortable and confident in. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
While we'd love to celebrate with everyone, we are only able to accommodate the guests specifically listed on your invitation. If a plus one has been reserved for you, it will be noted on your invitation and RSVP. Thank you for understanding as we do our best to keep our guest list manageable while celebrating with our closest family and friends!
Please reference the "Travel" section of the website for information on lodging for the weekend. We have a hotel block reserved at the Holiday Inn Express and recommend reserving that as soon as you can!
For guests staying at the Holiday Inn Express, we will have two shuttle buses available to transport guests to and from the venue. The buses will depart the hotel promptly at 3:45 PM and arrive at North Shore House in time for our 4:00 PM ceremony. For guests who prefer to drive, parking is available on-site at North Shore House. We recommend arriving by 4:00 PM to allow time for parking and seating before the ceremony begins at 4:30 PM. Please note that rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft can be limited in the area and are not guaranteed. Guests staying at Airbnb or other accommodations outside of the hotel block should plan their transportation accordingly, as shuttle service will only be provided from the Holiday Inn Express. If you plan on celebrating with us on the dance floor and enjoying a few drinks, please make arrangements for a safe ride home in advance!
North Shore House does offer on-site accommodations; however, the rooms have been reserved for specific guests, and those guests have already been notified by us directly. For all other guests, we highly recommend staying at the Holiday Inn Express, which is just 11 minutes from the venue. The hotel has recently been renovated and will serve as our host hotel. Complimentary shuttle transportation to and from the wedding will be provided for guests staying there, making it the most convenient accommodation option for the weekend!
All wedding events for the weekend will be held at the North Shore House, 912 Swartswood Rd, Newton, NJ 07860. There is parking available on site for anyone who decides to drive!
We're keeping our fingers crossed for beautiful summer weather! Our ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outdoors, allowing guests to enjoy the beautiful grounds and mountain views at North Shore House. Late July in Northern New Jersey is typically warm and sunny during the day, with temperatures cooling off comfortably in the evening. We recommend bringing a light wrap or jacket if you tend to get chilly after sunset. In the event of inclement weather, North Shore House has beautiful indoor accommodations that can comfortably host all aspects of our celebration, so we'll be ready to celebrate rain or shine.
While we absolutely adore your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. The only exception is our ring bearer, Carter, who will be joining us for the festivities. We hope this gives everyone a chance to relax, celebrate, and enjoy a fun night out with us.
