Sara first noticed Daniel when he was helping park cars at church, & began looking for an opportunity to meet him. She was new to the church, and didn't know many people, but God stepped in and found a way to bring them together completely coincidentally- Sara took staff photos one sunny August afternoon and Daniel just happened to be the last picture that day. After talking in the lobby on Sunday mornings each week, Dan finally asked her out on a date one chilly October afternoon- catching her completely by surprise (and delight).
When the time came for Dan to propose, he had several plans. Unfortunately, timing as well as Sara's immune system meant that he had to continuously rethink how he wanted to pop the question. Should it be on their one year anniversary? Should it happen in New York City on their twenty four hour trip? Thanks to the flu, the way it happened was actually none of those ideas- but it was perfect. He took her out to her favorite spot for lunch, and then began an hour or so of errands that made very little sense to Sara- all while their mutual friend and Sara's little sister were setting up the proposal at Mingo Park. By hinting that their friends were going to get engaged, Dan successfully got Sara to the park without her having a clue what was about to happen until she noticed her little sister hiding behind a tree and a table set up with roses and picture frames. There, he asked if she would be his wife, and Sara immediately agreed that there was nothing she'd like better.
