We met as medical students at orientation for an Emergency Medicine rotation at Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls. He was in his last year of school, I was in my third year. We discovered that we were attending the same medical school, but had never met on campus. He asked for my number so we could, “talk about the rotation”. A week went by and we rarely saw each other. Finally the next weekend he invited me to go out. I had just gotten off my shift and I was tired, exhausted, and I just wanted to go home to sleep, but... he was cute, nice, and I was hungry so I said yes. And the rest is history!
I had known for some time since meeting Sara, that I had discovered the woman of my dreams and the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I covertly met with her mother Mary and asked for her blessings to marry her daughter. When she said yes, Operation Golden was plotted. I took Sara for a walk at the MetroParks on March 8th 2020. The birds were chirping, kids were playing, and the sun was shining. Little did Sara know, Operation Golden was underway. As we walked along the path, Sara noticed a Golden Retriever and went up to pet her. As she got closer to the dog, she realized it was Bella, the dog we knew. Sara was excited to see Bella! She noticed Bella was wearing a collar that said “Will you Marry Me?” As Sara turned around, I got down on one knee with a ring in my hand. With how much she loves the park, dogs, and ME (not neccesarily in that order); it was no surprise she said YES. Operation Golden was a success!
