Our First Meet

The Two Fountains

The first time we met was in Rockville MD. We agreed to meet at the fountain to make it easier to find one another. Excited to meet Sara, I made sure to leave early in order to see her approaching. After the agreed time past, I was worried I wouldn't get the chance to meet her. A phone call from her asked where I was? "At the fountain", I replied. I was told to stop playing games because she was at the fountain and wasn't to be seen. How is it possible to meet at "the" fountain" at the same time and not see each other. Short answer is there are two fountains and we both went to different ones. I rushed over to the other fountain to meet her and lets just say she was not too pleased. Great way to start a first date! Later as we were walking I brought her to the fountain I was at and she laughed at the realization that there really were two fountains. From that day on she knew a few important things about me. I don't lie, my sense of direction isn't that great and I don't always give the best directions. Regardless, we had a nice enough time that she agreed to meet me again. I was lucky Sara was willing to give second chances.

Getting Engaged

Beloved

From the moment we first started dating I told Sara that I had chosen my wedding song years ago regardless if I married or not. "Beloved" by Tenth Avenue North. After she heard the song she fell in love with it as well and it became one of her favorite songs. . Tenth Avenue North had a concert coming up. I was able to get tickets to their concert to see them. With the VIP tickets we had a meet and greet with the band as well. God was pushing on my heart to ask her to marry me that day. So I did. Now lets hear Sara's side of the story! When Aaron mentioned to me that he felt God has put in his heart that that day was the day that we make our walk official, I felt it still was early by general conventions. People generally date 4,5 months or longer. Yet I thought I knew what I need to know, and 1,2 months more would not add anything significant. I loved this man and cherished him, had met and loved his family, respected him and also people in my life that are important to me and I respect their opinion, including my family, liked him and respected him. When there is anything important in my life, I consult with God. So I went to the Bible to listen to Proverbs, the part reach in wisdom, but what I came across with was Song of Solomon, "Let him lead me to the banquet hall" :) Back to Aaron: So, to keep with a fountain theme, I proposed in front of the one in Reston Town Center. Tenth Avenue North Played an acoustic private song for the VIP. To our surprise it happened to be "Beloved".

Fun Facts

What do you get when an Irish man marries an Iranian woman? We don't know but we are so looking forward to finding out. Our guess is something spectacular.
