FAQs

The Wedding Website of Sara Wang and Yijie Tao
Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that guests begin arriving at 6pm to enjoy the grounds and light refreshments. The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:30pm.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We would love to see our family and friends get dressed up with us! The dress code is Formal/Black-tie Optional. For Gentlemen: Please wear a dark colored suit and tie. For Ladies: A floor-length gown or an elegant midi dress is perfect. Please consider our color palette (see header photo): olive/sage/taupe/champagne.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Weather permitting, we plan to have our ceremony and cocktail hour outdoors to take in the views. Dinner and dancing will follow indoors in the HayLoft/Dining Room.

Question

What kind of food and beverage will be served?

Answer

We are thrilled to share a world-class culinary experience with you! Blue Hill at Stone Barns is a renowned farm-to-table destination, currently holding two Michelin Stars for its "excellent cooking" and a Michelin Green Star for its leadership in sustainable gastronomy. In keeping with the restaurant’s philosophy, there is no set menu. Instead, the chefs will prepare a seasonal multi-course feast featuring ingredients harvested directly from the surrounding fields at their peak. Each course will be accompanied by wine pairings specifically curated by Blue Hill’s award-winning beverage team to complement the flavors of the Hudson Valley.

Question

I have a severe allergy or dietary restriction. How should I let you know?

Answer

The culinary team is exceptional at accommodating allergies and dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc.) with advanced notice. Please include this information in your RSVP so we can ensure the kitchen is prepared.

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

By Car: Blue Hill is located about 30 miles north of New York City. There is ample on-site parking, and valet service will be provided for all guests upon arrival. By Train: For those traveling from Manhattan, take the Metro-North Hudson Line from Grand Central Terminal to the Tarrytown station (approx. 35–45 minutes). Taxis and rideshares are typically waiting at the station for the 10-minute drive to the venue. Provided Shuttle: We have arranged for guest shuttles to depart from the city at 4:30pm. Shuttles will also be available at the end of the evening to take you back to the city. Exact pickup location TBD. Another shuttle will be provided for guests staying at the Westchester Marriott. Details TBD.

Question

Can I get a rideshare home?

Answer

While Uber and Lyft are available in the Tarrytown area, they can sometimes be difficult to hail directly from the farm late at night. If you are not using our provided shuttle or your own car, we recommend prearranging rideshares.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We invite you to be fully present with us during our unplugged ceremony and kindly ask that you keep all phones and cameras away. Once we say "I do", feel free to snap as many photos as you'd like!

Question

What’s the vibe for the dance floor?

Answer

Expect a sophisticated start to the evening, but once the sun goes down and the feast is finished, we’re bringing a bit of that EDC energy to the HayLoft! Get ready for a mix of our favorite EDM tracks and wedding classics. Our All-Time Favorite Track: "High on Life" – Martin Garrix
