We met freshmen year of high school and started dating spring of sophomore year. We dated most of college but also needed some time to grow as individuals. Over the years we kept in touch and had dated on and off, knowing we were meant to be in each others lives but figuring out how. The pandemic was a blessing in disguise. The shutdown allowed us time to grow back together and here we are!

Both of us are coaches and coach fall sports. Being in season at the same time makes it difficult for us to see each other in person. Devyn has always been great at setting up surprises. He claims that he dropped some subtle hints earlier in the day. I had a match Friday Sept 24th, Devyn had a soccer game Saturday Sept 25th. I personally didn't think we would see each other until end of October/whenever our season's were done. Devyn made it to my match Friday evening, I had no clue he was there, and proposed on the SFU court in front of family, friends and my team! The teams reaction was priceless!
