Sara and Andrea met while Sara was vacationing in Italy. She was only in Rome for 2 days and decided to take a chance on a Hinge profile of a tattooed man with a black cat (Andrea). They went on a date to a restaurant within the neighborhood in which Andrea lives and was raised. The chemistry was instant, the conversation flowed, and they were shocked at how many similarities they had even though they came from different countries and spoke different languages. They even somehow were completing each others' sentences by the end of their first night together, sharing same music, hobbies, tv shows, etc. Sara and Andrea have been in love and inseparable since this day and, despite a 9999km distance and 9 hour time change, they knew that they found their person. After months of long-distance dating, the attraction and interest remained strong, and their willingness to spend their lives together became increasingly concrete. In March, Sara returned to Rome to see Andrea. On Saturday, Andrea booked a table at a rooftop restaurant in the center of Rome. The atmosphere was incredibly romantic, and after dinner, Andrea proposed to Sara at the top of the Ara Coeli staircase. She said yes! The joy of sharing and celebrating their love with all of you in the place where their story began is immeasurable. Sara's Fun Fact: Sara was wearing a shirt earlier that day while traveling from Florence to Rome which said 'Cerco un marito Italiano', which translates in English to 'I'm looking for an Italian husband'. Her friend made these as joke shirts for their girls trip to Italy together. Andrea's Fun Fact: Right before their first date, Andrea was pretty nervous because he felt that Sara was special, and he was already super interested and curious after their first short talk. He didn't want to be late for their date, knowing that Italians and Americans have two different ideas of "punctuality." He came back from work and prepared himself at the speed of light, driving through Rome's traffic like the Knight Bus from Harry Potter 3. He got 500 meters from Sara's BnB on time, but at the traffic lights, Andrea was stopped by the military police! It was just an average routine check that took a full 10 minutes while the officers with the guns were checking Andrea's documents. Of course, the check was fine, and he was free to go, but his chance to appear as one of the few punctual people in Italy was gone. After another 30 seconds of driving, he texted Sara that he was there, and she came out of her BnB. Sara, of course, made a funny joke about Italians being late in the end.
