A big fat Indian wedding is loud, colourful, and loads of fun ! Expect lots of drinking and dancing and 2 days of complete madness - it will be tiring, emotional, and just a huge party! Our wedding is between two communities - Bengali and Punjabi - so expect a unique flavour from each side on each of the functions. Remember to make new friends and hug the bride and groom - they will be overwhelmed but they are so grateful you're there for their big day.
Yes, although it is not very strict. The small function {20th} is casual - wear a kurta and jeans for the ladies and men can come as they are. The cocktail on the 21st is fancaaayy, so get your bling on - lehengas for the ladies and suits / tuxes for the men. The wedding and reception on the 22nd are more sober, so wear something traditional like saris or kurtas. Anything goes! For anyone travelling to India for the first time, we will allot someone to take you shopping for clothes. You can also rent clothes at stage3.co or flyrobe.com.
Yes! Bring whoever you like - just let us know the count of final people you're coming with.
Yes, kids are welcome.
We are both working on a way that we can all stay together the 2-3 days around the wedding - will be easier for the afterparties! Allow us until Oct 1, 2018 to come back to you with some reccos.
We’re moving after the wedding and won't be able to carry any gifts, so please contribute to our Honeymoon Fund!
A list of must-dos in Delhi, recommendations for restaurants, and any parallel travel plans you may have - such as Jaipur or Agra for the Taj Mahal can be provided on request - please request Sanya to help curate a personalized itinerary for you.
We really, really like to celebrate at our weddings! In fact, our wedding is actually quite small compared to most other weddings. Each function we have planned holds a special significance and will have small, beautiful details and intimate traditions.
If you don’t drink, you won’t be allowed in. {We're not joking} Anything goes at an Indian wedding, so please don't place any restrictions on yourself.
We are heading to Goa for a few days to detox after the wedding and will be moving to San Francisco permanently a few months later {Come visit!}. Our honeymoon is not yet planned since we have so many other life decisions to take care of first.
Er... NO.
