Travel Note
To travel to Brazil, US citizens will need a 1. Valid Passport 2. Brazilian Visa or E-Visa PASSPORT INFORMATION: The time it takes to get a first passport depends on the processing method and whether you need it urgently: Routine: Takes 6–8 weeks, plus mailing time Expedited: Takes 2–3 weeks, plus mailing time, and costs an extra $60 Urgent travel: For travel within 2–3 weeks, this is usually faster than expedited and requires an in-person appointment Emergency travel: For travel within 3 days, this is reserved for life and death emergencies You can make an appointment online at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.html/ or call 1-877-487-2778. You can track the status of your passport online or by phone. To apply for a passport, you'll need: A completed DS-11 form, Proof of U.S. citizenship, Proof of identification, and A color passport photo.

It is now mandatory to get a Visa to enter Brasil. The cost is about $80 and the Information tab on the website gives you step by step instructions on how to apply!
Flight
Our suggested Flight Itinerary would be: Arrival: Either Wednesday 7/16 in the evening or Thursday 7/17 in the morning. Departure: Either Sunday 7/20 in the evening or Monday 7/21 in the morning. We highly recommend that you use the following airlines: American Airlines (Orlando - Miami - Rio de Janeiro) Delta (Orlando - Atlanta - Rio de Janeiro) Azul (Orlando - Campinas (SP) - Rio de Janeiro) LATAM (Orlando - São Paulo - Rio de Janeiro) Copa (Orlando - Panama - Rio de Janeiro) Gol (Orlando - Brasilia - Rio de Janeiro) There are two airports in Rio de Janeiro. Either airport is fine for you to arrive. Galeão-Antonio Carlos Jobim (GIG) Santos Dumont (SDU) An ideal price would be $1000 or less on a round trip ticket. The sooner you purchase your flight the cheaper it will be! You can absolutely get a ticket for about $800 if you plan in advance.
