Visit the Island Castle of Le Château de Chillon

This unique castle is located in close proximity to Montreux and makes for a wonderful addition to a day trip in the region. A great way to start exploring Lausanne is to begin by taking the M2 Métro line to the "Bessieres" stop. Then catch the elevator to the highest level, and enjoy an amazing view of the city from the bridge. Once across the bridge, you can meander toward the Cathedral or downhill toward Place de la Palud.
