Carlo and I met via a dating app called Coffee Meets Bagel during the pandemic in 2020. Though a difficult time, it was still a blessing for us. Carlo and I went on our first date at Rocco's Tavern in Pasadena on October 2 as restaurants were starting to open up their patio seating again. Carlo and I still disagree 'til this day on who was actually first to ask the other out, but because I (Sandy) get to write this up - I'm going to say it was me. Fun facts: Carlo and I met up to watch the Lakers Finals Game 2 against the Heat (they won that game and also the Championship that year, if that even counts - lol); Carlo got a call during our date that his family's Team 6 offer for their first project in Culver City was accepted, so we took a shot at Lucky's to celebrate; Carlo was the first person/date I went on when I mustered up the courage to try dating apps. We stayed at the restaurant until they closed then went back to Carlo's place - just talking 'til 4AM the next morning. I even asked him to hang out again later that day - lol!; that day was also St. Charles "Carlo" Borromeo's Feast Day/Feast Day of all Angels & Saints. After a little over a month of hanging out, on November 17, one late night in Carlo's room, we talked about marriage/our future(s) and Carlo asked me to be his girlfriend. Fun fact: The time was so close to midnight when Carlo asked, the date could've really been the 16th but Carlo let me choose our official date the next morning. 2 years later, Carlo tries to plan a mini vacation for us in Laguna Beach. I say "tries" because I'm the planner in our relationship, so him trying to plan an impromptu trip seemed fishy to me. Many other little things leading up to that weekend gave him away (like my sister, Andrea weirdly staring at me when I told her I had a feeling that Carlo was going to propose soon and when Carlo asked me if I was going to get my nails done days before our trip), so I knew he was going to pop the question. And by the end of our Crystal Cove hike on November 4, 2022, we were engaged. Fun Facts: A week or so prior, Carlo delivered my dad his favorite breakfast burrito when he asked for my dad's blessing; Carlo forgot his hiking shoes the morning of the proposal, so he used his non slip work shoes he had in the car (peep the photo if you get a chance); Carlo took a random ring from my room to measure for the engagement ring. Not realizing it, he grabbed my thumb ring so my engagement ring was falling off my finger for a week before I got it resized; I asked Carlo to keep his proposal intimate...just he and I - and he delivered guys!; We had our celebratory dinner at Roux Creole, an old restaurant Carlo used to work at in Orange County. And here we are now, 2023...on the road to holy matrimony!! The timing of it all was truly a blessing for Carlo and I. We're both so thankful to God that we have and continue to choose each other. We're so excited and we can't wait to share this new beginning as husband and wife with all of you this upcoming September! So together with our families, we invite you to celebrate our wedding day! We hope that you'll will be able to join us!
