The First Date

9.10.11

We met in 2010 while working at Pita Pit in college. At first, we joked around a lot about our 6 year age gap and Sean wondered if Kayla had an older sister he could date... But then in 2011, for our "first date" Kayla made Sean stuffed peppers for dinner in exchange for a tattoo design. Kayla never did get that tattoo and since then, Sean has taken over all of the cooking. But the rest, as they say, was history!

The Proposal

10.05.19

We spent the day in downtown Cleveland doing what we enjoy the most - wandering the city with no plan. We tried out a few new breweries, stumbled upon an Italian street festival, walked along the river, and talked about the historic buildings of downtown. At the end of the night, we stopped at one our favorite buildings - The Hyatt Arcade. It was there that Sean got down on one knee and Kayla was so excited she almost forgot to say yes!

The Elopement

06.13.20

We decided to take matters into our own hands! So, we got in the car and drove to Colorado... The mountains have always been special to us both - Kayla grew up spending the summers camping and hiking 14er's with her family, and Sean's family also has ties to Colorado for summer vacations and rafting trips. On Saturday June 13, 2020, we had a private, self-solemnizing ceremony with just the two of us, a photographer, and the breathtaking views of Rocky Mountain National Park. It was the most perfect day and will certainly be a story to tell! We plan to have a vow renewal and reception with all of our family and friends on the same date next year to celebrate one year of marriage and 10 years of being together.

The Celebration

06.13.21

In light of COVID-19, we made the decision to postpone our reception with family and friends to the summer of 2021. Our new date is now Sunday June 13, 2021. Same place, same time. We want you all to know that your health and safety is our top priority and this was the best decision for us to insure that we will be able to celebrate together without any worry. It will be worth the wait! We are so excited to have all of our family and friends come together for this special day! We want to thank everyone who is planning to travel near and far to celebrate with us. We can't wait to see you!! Please note that we will be requesting all guests to wear a facial covering when not actively eating or drinking. Guests will be provided with personalized masks. Thank you for your efforts to protect our most vulnerable guests!!

For all the days along the way
