Although it may be a dying art these days, A & E actually met in real life. Back in 2015, Emily flew to Santa Barbara, California to visit her best friend, Jamie. Jamie happened to work with Alessandro, at Sonos , and the two of them ran in the same friendship circle. A & E's meeting was brief, and they were both in other relationships, so neither of them thought much of it. It wasn't until a few years later, on a cold winter day in NYC, that they saw one another again. Jamie happened to be visiting Emily at a time that Alessandro was staying with friends in Brooklyn. They all met up for brunch, on a Saturday afternoon, and the rest is history. Sort of... At the very least, that weekend was when their love story began. They spent the following year staying connected through text, with a few visits sprinkled in here and there. After realizing that this wasn't just a casual attachment, they decided to commit, wholeheartedly, to the cross country partnership. That alone says a lot. Have you ever been in a long distance relationship? It's not easy. BUT, they were dedicated and devoted to giving it an honest shot. Alessandro would fly to New York just about every three weeks. He racked up a massive amount of airline points and flies in style now because of it. Emily would travel to him in Oakland as frequently as her schedule would allow. When they weren't with one another in person, they became well versed in practicing open, consistent communication, and became FaceTime aficionados. A three hour time difference doesn't sound like much but they will tell you, it's challenging AF. In early 2020, they decided that Emily would make the move to The Bay that summer. Covid ended up expediting the move. Shortly thereafter came a pregnancy, followed by the most epic surprise proposal, succeeded by the birth of their little Zuri. It's been an exciting few years, full of big decisions, change, challenges, bliss, and most importantly, a whole lot of love.
