Residence Inn By Marriott (No Discount Link) This hotel is part of the Marriot family and just opened last year. It is attached to the renowned Hospital Metropolitano de Santiago. This is the nicest location with a casino and is located next door to a TGI Fridays. This location did not have availability for a room block, but I would recommend asking if they will honor the discount rate given for Hodelpa Garden Hotel. https://www.hodelpa.com/gran-almirante/ Camp David Hotel (No Discount Link) This is small boutique hotel that is in the mountain with a nice restaurant. There is a nice view of the city but there is nothing nearby. We have not stayed at the hotel, but we have been to the restaurant several times. https://campdavidranch.com

Es la mejor ubicación con casino y está junto a un TGI Fridays. No había disponibilidad para reservar habitaciones, pero recomiendo preguntar si mantienen el descuento del Hotel Hodelpa Garden. https://www.hodelpa.com/gran-almirante/ Hotel Camp David (Sin enlace de descuento) Este pequeño hotel boutique se encuentra en la montaña y cuenta con un buen restaurante. Flight
For flights, you should use a general search method (i.e., not a specific airline) to check roundtrip flights AND two one-way flights. Sometimes two one-way flights are cheaper than a roundtrip flight because one airline is cheaper coming and another airline is cheaper leaving. Google Flights tends to check different airlines coming and leaving when you search by roundtrip, so it usually does it for you. For those intending to combine the wedding with a vacation in another part of the Dominican Republic, you should consider a one-way flight into the first city and another one-way flight out of the other city. Aeropuerto Internacional del Cibao (STI) is the airport in Santiago. Other airports are Aeropuerto Internacional Gregorio Luperón in Puerto Plata (POP), which is about 1 1/2 hours from Santiago, and Las Américas International Airport in Santo Domingo (SDQ), which is a little less than 3 hours away. If you choose Puerto Plata or Santo Domingo, please factor in the transportation from those locations.

All the rental car companies are available here. Before deciding to rent a car, please know that driving here is more aggressive than in the United States and some of the rules of the road are viewed as just a suggestion. It is not bad or negative, it is just different. We drive here all the time and Rod loved driving here even when he was just a tourist.

Uber is available in the Dominican Republic and normally functions the same as in the United States. Previously there was a problem with rides to and from he airport, but I believe that has been corrected. Just in case, if you order an Uber and the driver contacts you to tell you they only accept cash and will not honor the Uber order, cancel, report it as the reason, and then take a cab. Usually their cash price is more than taking a taxi.

House Or Rental

There are many nice airbnb and Vrbo properties, including villas, that are available for rent. A villa can be a good option for those groups that may want to stay together and enjoy a private common area. As the photos are not always current, if you are deciding upon one of these properties, just let us know if you want us to take a recent photo of the building and area.
