Lou worked hard at courting Sandra early in the relationship. Although she always said that she wasn't interested, admittedly Sandra did like something that she saw in Lou's eyes. After much effort and what seemed like an eternity to Lou, the two had their first real date at La Hacienda de Los Fernandez. Soon after another date ensued, followed by another and the two-fun loving adventurous souls were off on their journey together. Lou admired Sandra's style, her hard-working mindset, and loyalty. Both Lou and Sandra possessed a great blend of traditional Mexican Family values as well as a Chicago-suburban upbringing. This allowed them to mesh well. Sandra felt comfortable around Lou and really could feel a sense of peace when he was near. She also admired the way he cared for her children which turned into a strong love that is growing everyday. Sandra also admires Lou's drive and perseverance that he exhibits in anything that he dedicates himself to. Together, they complement each other in ways that makes the other stronger. The true bond was created and cemented when they both realized they shared faith in Christ. Lou had been praying for the good Lord to send a women into his life and Sandra was the one! They still attend church and enjoy worshipping the Lord as often as possible. Sandra slowly began to feel and realize that Lou was the one for her. The two became inseparable. They loved to be around each other, and the fact that both were able to mesh well with each other's respective family helped propel their journey forward. Lou loves to make Sandra laugh. This is one of the simple, yet main things that they love to do wherever they are. Whether on a trip to San Antonio or Laguna beach and Las Vegas, or at home, or even stuck in traffic, these two are usually laughing and smiling with one another. Fun and laughter is always a priority for these two to balance their busy schedules. This trait extends to their children as well. Day (19), Nico (13), Sam (11), and Lucas (3), can be seen regularly smiling and joking around together. Sandra and Lou have had tremendous growth in their lives together and look forward to the next phase in their marriage. They are thankful for God for guiding their faith thus far and are excited to see what further blessings and growth He has in store for them. A major motivation in getting married is to honor God in Holy Matrimony.
