Karl and Sandra had known of each other since middle school and graduated high school together in 2018, but their story didn’t actually start until two years later. They reconnected through mutual friends at a beach bonfire in Pacific City. She didn’t know anyone there and felt a little out of place, until Karl walked over and made her feel welcome. As they got to know each other, their goals, values, and morals aligned perfectly. They could talk and laugh for hours about anything—life, family, feelings, dreams—and nothing ever felt forced. They were able to be their true selves with each other, never feeling like they had to hide a thing. Their first date brought them back to Pacific City, where they shared dinner from the Pelican, laughed, talked, and watched the sunset over the water.
