Wedding Party

Peju

Maid of Honor

Hi, I’m Peju, the Maid of Honor and the bride’s best friend. I first met her in grad school (University of New Haven) in 2018, thanks to Bibi. I was a confused grad student, trying to navigate my way, and she helped me settle in and I knew right away, this was someone special. From that moment, a beautiful friendship blossomed. We’ve shared countless memories, laughter, and milestones, and I’m grateful to be part of her journey. I’m so excited for the future and can’t wait to see what life has in store. Here’s to love, laughter, and happily ever after.

Maryam

Bridesmaid

My name is Maryam, and I met Sandra in August 2018 at UNH. She had been on a flight to the US with one of my best friends who was also coming to start her masters program. She called and told me that she had made a friend for me in my school and encouraged me to connect when I arrived. Upon meeting Sandra, it felt like I had known her for a long time, she was easy to talk to and since them it has been an awesome friendship. I feel blessed to call her friend and sister.

Mercy

Bridesmaid

Hello, I am Mercy. I met Sandra through a mutual friend, who coincidentally shares her name! To avoid confusion, we affectionately refer to each of them as 'Black Sandra' and 'Fair Sandra.' We also discovered that we both attend Rock Church, which was a lovely surprise. I am delighted to be a part of your special day!

Bibi

Bridesmaid

Hi there, The bride and I connected via Facebook after she messaged me persistently on both Facebook and Instagram, and I finally responded. She reached out because she was starting at my school in the fall of 2018 and wanted to connect. We became roommates for a year and have been friends ever since. I’m so difficult to get rid of!

Amaka

Bridesmaid

Hi, I’m Amaka! My first memory of the bride was 15 years ago during our undergraduate days at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. A mutual friend introduced me to her in their hostel room, and her warm smile and kind heart instantly stood out. I’m so grateful to witness this beautiful new chapter in her life. Wishing her a lifetime of love, joy, and endless blessings in her marriage.

Thelma

Bridesmaid

What’s up everyone! I am the cousin of the bride. Onyi and I have always been distant cousins; we however first met when we were kids at our maternal grandparents’ home in Aba, Nigeria. I had heard she was tall- turns out she was just slim (what a mix-up)! All the cousins would gather to sing gospel songs, entertaining everyone in the family who cared to listen. Glad we still share this in common. She is more of a friend than a cousin, ever since, distance regardless.

Tim

Best Man

Gabe and I met in San Diego while we were both stationed on the USS Carl Vinson. Through the trials and tribulations of two deployments, and an unspeakable number of long days; we became friends. That friendship transcended our time in the Navy and our day to day lives. We make time to see each other when we can and still give each other the occasional call to check in and celebrate our shared successes. I’m glad to count Gabe among my close friends and I am honored to help get him hitched!

Cameron

Groomsman

I came back to the ship for the night (was living on the ship). I went into the RT classroom to watch the Americans on DVD and Gabe was there. We talked and then became the bestest of friends.

Scott

Groomsman

The year was 2003, and I had turned down a Catholic High School Education that I was already accepted, enrolled into and had uniform purchased for a new type of school not seen in 30 years, the Eagle Academy for Young Men. There were 4 of us that stood closer than ever and that's how I met Gabe. Throughout college and after and just life we have still remained great friends and brothers.

Justin

Groomsman

Gabe and I first met back in the Navy on the USS Carl Vinson, back then gabe was “Copeadope” to me. We stayed friends and became closer when he was stationed back in San Diego. We’ve enjoyed many fun nights full of laughter, games, and trivia.

Mino

Groomsman

I first met Gabe in RE-30 aboard the USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) . I was volun-told to rent out some equipment and that’s where I ran into Gabe with his feet kicked up playing a video game. His eyes were glued to the TV but without hesitation, he helped me get the gear I was told to get. What he did that day is more than most sailors do, their jobs. What started as a casual conversation turned into a friendship built on shared interests, countless laughs, and mutual respect. Watching him tackle life with the same determination and eagerness throughout our friendship, I’m honored to stand by his side as a groomsman and as he embarks on this next exciting chapter of his life.

Gawaine

Groomsman

I remember first meeting Gabe at Northeastern University in 2008, during our freshman year. It was in the dining hall with a few other friends, but it’s the moments I later spent hearing him play the piano at the African American Institute that really stand out. There was something about the way he played—so effortlessly, yet with so much feeling—that made the music resonate in a way I won’t forget. It was one of those rare experiences that made you pause and take in the moment.
