The year was 2018... The Avengers were dominating the global box office, beloved actor-turned-rapper Drake was indecently topping the charts, and Mike Pence was ruminating on his preparations to facilitate a peaceful transference of power to the Biden administration in the eventual 2020 election. It was just the beginning of the (consensus) greatest story in history. We cut to a famously 22-year-old Mexican American woman walking into a wine and spirits importation office staffed with an infamously schlubby, and germanically ambiguous bridge builder (by name only, i.e. 'Bruegger'). What happened next was legendary.. Just kidding it took some time to build their chemistry (and Davis losing 30 pounds) before they were romantically intertwined, but hey it's about the journey right? Yes, that journey mostly involved several 'subtly' flirtatious acts like putting her stapler into a gelatin mold, and printing out mini pictures of her face and hiding them throughout the office to befuddle unassuming cohorts, etc. but they had to play their cards right when it came to the workplace dance of dalliance. Let's just say Jim and Pam couldn't hold a candle to this chemistry. Though there was no doubt the 'vibe' between them was immediate, tensions/flirtations/courtations/incantations escalated overtime culminating in an offsite July 4th (2019) party at the Robbs estate where they shared their first kiss on a country club golf course under the effervescent lights and sounds of some good ole American fireworks. Thus began their dating relationship. A few months later, the pandemic of 2020 caused by the novel corona virus (SARS-COV-2/COVID-19) then took the world by storm so their love was able to fully flourish free from the bounds of The Office: An American Workplace. After Dr. Fauci dispelled the disease from the cultural conscience, calls to return to office sprouted a little to soon for comfort, Sandra eventually pursued work elsewhere and they were then finally able to publicly disclose their relationship to their work side of life, much to the lack of surprise of many of their supportive and curious coworkers. Eventually their love grew and grew, and they moved in together in 2022 in the house where they reside today. Though some prying and overbearing critics called for marriage earlier in the process, Sandra and Davis were on their own timeline and enjoyed 5 years of dating until little old Davy finally worked up the courage to pull the engagement trigger, and thank GOD she said yes.
Sandra and Davis would never miss and opportunity when passing by an old-fashioned photo booth, collecting multiple photo strips overtime, so Davis took that root of an idea and ran with it. Davis proposed to Sandra on a rainy and logistically un-ideal December night in downtown Dallas in an unassuming photobooth at Pegasus City Brewing. They walked there in the pouring evening rain with one Umbrella spread between 6 of her closest friends, but luckily made it by the skin of Davis's white(ish) teeth, dry(ish) and on time(ish). Sandra thankfully said yes in the booth, the photo strips were taken and printed, they opened the curtains, and to her complete surprise her entire family was standing there as they had travelled up from San Antonio for the reveal. Tears were shed (mostly by Davis). They then went to the Bruegger parental household (Tanbark for the well initiated fans) where 50 more of our friends and family were waiting to celebrate in tow. Next up for Sandra and Davis? Tequila, Mexico for the wedding (and tariffs). THAT'S MAGIC BABY
