Sandy first met Aram in the hallowed halls of the CUNY Law library. She had a crush on him right away and would eye him from afar. One fateful night in which a tornado hit Flushing, NY and a tree would slam into Aram's car ( seriously, this happened) Aram tried to drown his sorrows in a dingy local bar. Sandy also happened to be there and they exchanged numbers. Sandy's first test for Aram was to see if he had proper form for his basketball jump shot ( to give this context, Sandy was the point guard of her high school basketball team). She made him shoot an imaginery basketball in the air- in front of her colleagues- at the bar. He passed the test. Clearly, Sandy's pick up game needed some work. They would go on to bond over their shared love of family, falafel, sports, dogs, game of thrones, studying for bar exams, spending time outdoors, and talking history and politics. In fact, Aram coached Sandy through her first half marathon in October 2013. She hasn't run another one since unlike Aram, who will be running the full NYC marathon this November. Sandy will be happily cheering him on in the crowd, and may or may not be eating donuts. Aram finally got the courage to ask Sandy for her hand in marriage in Key West, Florida overlooking Cuba ( well not really, but it is 90 miles away). She said YES- WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG? and kissed him. The rest, as they say, is history. Sandy and Aram will be dancing the night away at The Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Beach Resort, Feb. 10, 2019 and they hope to see you there!
