James Island County Park

The first time David came down to Charleston, one of the things we did was fish off the pier. I was the only one who caught anything, a bonnet head shark. It was also here that I caught a glimpse of David's stellar character.

Kiawah Island

Be sure to visit the Village Green, a lovely collection of upscale shops surrounding a grassy park. Last summer we enjoyed a couple of free concerts on the green.

This farm-to-table restaurant was one of the first I (Sandie) enjoyed when moving to the area. It remains my favorite.

A "sea-to-table" restaurant, this is one of our favorites. It also appears in the Netflix series "Outer Banks."

Coconut Joe's

This is the place we enjoyed when David, on a whim, drives 3.5 hours south just to take me out to supper and then drives back that same night! We enjoyed Cocoanut Joe's signature cocoanut shrimp as we watched the sun set over the ocean.

KISS Cafe

This Valentine's weekend, we enjoyed Red Velvet french toast. It was dessert for breakfast!
