The Kahani

I saw Sandhya moving into the building next to mine and we locked eyes. We officially met at medical school after the first social, but Sandhya didn’t remember. She introduced herself to me the next day, but I reminded her that she had met me the previous day, although a little inebriated at the time. We quickly became friends and started studying together. One late night, Sandhya decided she wanted to study anatomy and I decided to study with her. And that’s when she knew I liked her. I remember seeing Bali when we moved in and thinking, “that boy is cute, I wonder if he goes to my medical school…”. Little did I know the next year would be the best year of my life. I knew Bali liked me and we had our first date watching a movie at my apartment. He chose a terrible movie (he disagrees), but I was intrigued by him. The first time I realized I liked him is when we went on a date to a Mexican restaurant. He held my hand and we walked away from our school’s social event and just spent time together. I fell hard and fast. After our first year I called Bali on my way back to California and told him he was the best thing that happened to me that year. We have grown up together, meeting each other at only 23 and 25. We have had many ups and downs. The journey, although difficult with long-distance and residency, has been beautiful. We are excited to spend the rest of our lives together and would be honored if you could join us on our special day.
