In 2012, Ankur and Sandhya both moved to Rodin 17th floor on Penn's campus. Ankur and Sandhya did not immediately meet, but one of Sandhya's roommates, playing matchmaker, pointed him out to her. She considered the idea, but put it on the back burner. After all, she had only seen him in passing a few times and barely knew the guy! One day, Sandhya joined a friend of hers to do work in the Rodin Booths. The friend introduced them when Ankur joined to study. Ankur always studied at the Booths, but he started to keep an eye out to see if Sandhya would be joining her friends there. They would continue to talk while they studied until they finally decided to see each other outside of the booths. The rest is history!

On March 22, 2013, Ankur took Sandhya on their very first date. On December 5, 2014, he took her out to the Skylark on one of their favorite dates. On March 22, 2019, Ankur planned a huge surprise proposal. The setup was all done - he had made a reservation at the Skylark and bought Sandhya a train ticket to NYC, since her mood was usually affected by the traffic in the Lincoln Tunnel. When they walked into the Skylark, they were shown to a table with a view of the Empire State Building. All set to exchange anniversary gifts, Ankur had Sandhya close her eyes for surprise - when she opened them he was down on one knee. She said yes! But there was still another surprise... Ankur took Sandhya out to celebrate with (what she thought) were a few friends. When she walked into the bar she saw all their friends and family from coast to coast had come out to celebrate their big night! It was a night they won't forget and they are so grateful to have been able to share that moment with their loved ones.
