We kindly ask our guests to arrive 30 minutes before the time listed on the invitation to ensure everyone is comfortably seated when the ceremony begins.
We’ll be serving light breakfast appetizers before the ceremony. Come early, enjoy some delicious bites, and mingle! After the ceremony Indian vegetarian lunch will be served. Please note that no meat is allowed on the premises, so all food will be strictly vegetarian.
Indian weddings are full of color, tradition, and vibrant style. We encourage you to embrace the opportunity to dress up in beautiful, traditional Indian attire, although it is not mandatory. For Women: Women typically wear colorful kurta sets. If you need help, look into outfits such as salwar, sharara, anarkali, gharara suits, etc. Look for rich colors, intricate embroidery, and beautiful fabrics. Avoid wearing plain white or black, as these colors are usually reserved for somber occasions. If you prefer a less traditional look, a long, elegant dress with Indian-inspired details can also be a lovely choice. Just make sure the dress is ankle/floor length. You must also cover your head with a chunni/dupatta (or a shawl if not going traditional). For Men: Men can wear a sherwani, a formal suit, or a kurta paired with churidar or pants. Men also cover their head, you can choose to wear a bandana/patka. If you have any questions about what to wear, please text us.
If you plan on buying a traditional outfit, I suggest doing so asap as the outfits take a lot longer to get here. Here are some websites I recommend: Lashkaraa Pernias Pop Up Azafashions Kalki Little Muffet (for kids) Punjab Jewelers & Fabrics (2767 W Shaw Ave ste 126, Fresno, CA)
Shoes cannot be worn in the gurdwara (church). You will take them off and set them in a shoe room before entering the gurdwara so, I suggest wearing something that is easy to take off and put back on.
Men and women will sit separately during the ceremony (men on one side, women on the other). Please note you won’t be seated next to your partner. There will be no chairs guests will sit on the floor cross legged. If you need special seating chairs are against the walls if needed.
At this time, there will be no reception. We will have one in the near future.
Please do not bring or consume alcohol at the Gurdwara, and note that smoking is not permitted anywhere on the premises. Please be respectful!
