After matching on Coffee Meets Bagel, we quickly planned on meeting up for a drink at Novela, a book themed bar. We had an amazing conversation that ranged from the history of Istanbul to rats living in the sewers of San Francisco, and the hours flew by. Eventually, Kate got hungry and wanted to get dinner, but Sandeep didn't catch the hint and Kate disappeared into the night. The next day we planned our next date, a hike at Marin Headlands. After that, we deleted our dating apps and felt we had met someone special 😄

After scheming with Kate's best friend, Sandeep turned Kate's trip to Portland into a roadtrip where he planned to propose. The original plan was to propose on Mt. Shasta, where we had taken our first real trip together and accidentally discovered the beautiful Panther Meadows. Due to climate change and forest fires, that plan didn't really work out 😬 With an obvious ring in his pocket, Sandeep popped the question on the top of Mt. Tabor in Portland, and Kate said "Of Course."
