My (Abbie’s) older brother is the reason we met. He made me download the mutual dating app when I got home from my mission, just for kicks. I decided I’d swipe just for fun and after a couple months, found Spencer. After talking for about a week, we went on our first date! We went to Chick-Fil-A, and then went on a hike that overlooks the Bountiful temple and valley. We clicked instantely! We had a lot of the same tastes, and the conversation never died. We spent an hour after the hike just talking and listening to music. I’m sure that if I didn’t have to work, the date would have gone the rest of the day. We officially started dating a week later.
Spencer wanted to recreate our first date one day, but wanted us to look nice so we could take pictures. I was confused since it was a hike, but I obliged. After eating, Spencer said we needed to stop my his grandma’s house to grab something. We talked with her for a while, so by the time we left the sun had started to go down. He suggested that we take a shortcut to get to the end of the hike with the view. As we walked up the shortcut, I started to see pictures of us, with little sayings under them. These led to a beautiful set up of flowers and pictures, which is when Spencer got on one knee. Best day of my life (until October 24th of course)!
