The day after Christmas in 2020 was the day both of our lives changed. We were both going thru a lot at that time and we did what most single millennials do and found a distraction from real life and joined a dating app in hopes of finding someone cute enough to take you on a date of just to have a good conversation. Around this time Aryssa was mourning her father Raul and Michelle was new to the civilian world and was having a hard time adjusting after leaving the Marines. After looking and swiping left on many other single people we were both kind of loosing hope until we found each other. Aryssa did swipe first and saw a girl with short hair and the most beautiful blue eyes looking back at her. Michelle heard a ding on her phone and saw a beautiful Latina from good ol' west Texas was interested in her. We started off messaging each other back and forth and finally decided to face time just to make sure we weren't being catfished. That's when the sparks really started to fly. We both decided to make an impulse decision and planned to meet in person and hang out new years eve. Michelle was living in El Paso at the time and she decided to take a chance and drive to Odessa Texas and meet Aryssa. Michelle drove to Odessa and got there before Aryssa was off from work. Michelle decided to go to the store and buy a bottle of wine and some snacks to surprise Aryssa. While at the store Michelle saw a women with a similar body type as Aryssa but definitely not the same face and freaked out a bit because this wasn't the same person that she had been talking to this whole time. In a panic she rushed to check out and called Aryssa to see where she was at and to her relief she was still at work. When Aryssa finally got off work, they met at her apartment parking lot for the first time and Michelle didn't waste any time and kissed Aryssa before she could even say a word. We both didn't believe in love at first site but we had something there that neither of us had ever felt before. Being with someone that felt so effortless was new and unexpected in the best way possible. We spent the new years weekend together and we didn't want this to end. Michelle asked Aryssa to be her girlfriend on January 2nd because we both new that we found our person and we deserved to be happy even when life around us wasn't. This is the beginning of our love story.
