Our Story

Back in 2011 two teenagers met at their retail job and bonded over pretzel breaks and awkward customer encounters. Somewhere between stocking shoes and counting down to closing time, something clicked. Jonathan swears he told Vivian he had a crush on her back then. Vivian, however, has absolutely no recollection of this alleged confession. Either way, the timing wasn’t right. Life carried them in different directions that kept them on separate paths. Fast forward almost a decade and their paths crossed again. What started as a simple “just catching up” message quickly turned into hours of conversation, laughter, and that same spark from years ago. When things started getting serious, life decided to test them right away as Jonathan was stationed overseas in Korea. The time difference meant one of them was always half-asleep, but they made it work and stayed up at ridiculous hours just to talk and hold on to that connection that felt impossible to ignore. Eventually, Jonathan came back to the States, but the long-distance chapter wasn’t over yet. For years, they took turns making six-hour drives to and from Virginia, just to spend a weekend together — proving that love (and good playlists) can make even the longest road trips worth it. After four years of long distance, Jonathan moved in, and now they share a cozy home filled with laughter, late-night talks that don’t require time zone math, and two adorable cats they adopted, Luna and Calypso. From kids with an unspoken crush to partners building a life side by side, it turns out timing really is everything.
