It all started with a ping on Hinge, just before the New Year. Sanah, fresh off a string of bad dates and questionable dating app encounters, was seconds away from deleting the apps and taking a break while venting to her best friend, Bri. But just as her finger hovered over "delete," a notification popped up: Kira liked her. Curious, Sanah clicked on Kira's profile and was immediately met with the goofiness she didn’t even realize she was searching for. Kira's profile was packed with quirky gems—spiders, bottomless brunch, and a commitment to "the bit." Intrigued and delighted, Sanah made the first move, crafting a response as clever and silly as Kira’s profile. Kira, of course, was instantly charmed. That very night, they went on their first date—and it was nothing short of whimisical. From there, the good dates just kept coming. Sanah surprised Kira with VIP tickets to Dino’s Alive, where Kira texted their family group chat, “She’s wifey material.” Kira, never one to miss a theme, invited Sanah to their Under the Sea-themed birthday party. Dressed as a captain and a mermaid, Kira asked Sanah to be their girlfriend on January 22nd. By the three-month mark—and in classic lesbian fashion—Sanah and Kira decided to move in together. Just a year after their first date, in January 2024, they picked out engagement rings. By March of 2024, they were engaged. For Sanah and Kira, it’s always felt easy. Sanah is deeply optimistic, while Kira navigates the world with a healthy level of suspicion. Kira knows how to stay calm in a crisis, while it takes very little to freak Sanah out. Sanah is a planner and the family’s logistics queen, while Kira has taken the lead on shaping their new home, single-handedly building all of the furniture. Sanah thrifts Kira cute clothes to help them express themselves, and Kira makes space for Sanah to be as goofy as she likes—never tiring of the songs Sanah writes about their cats or the spooky voices she talks in. They are different and keep each other on their toes. They learn from each other, see the world in unique ways, and even have completely opposite tastes in music. Yet, being together feels calming and balanced, like the chance to finally see things fully, together. In the important ways, they’re exactly the same: They love each other deeply, want to live a life centered on creativity and expression, and are committed to being joyful and spreading joy. Recently, they bought their first home together and have loved turning it into "Lesbian Party House"—a space that’s as welcoming and quirky as they are. Every guest gets to pick something out of a prize box (thank you, Sanah’s thrifting addiction). It’s a home filled with love, laughter, and the perfect amount of chaos, and they can’t wait to grow their family there. We’re so excited to have you as part of our community and hope you can celebrate our love with us this June.
