Like all classic love stories, our story starts with a swipe right (thanks Bumble!). We had both recently moved to San Francisco for our first travel nurse contracts at Stanford. Our first date was at ABV in the Mission District. After a couple of overpriced cocktails, Brett suggested we go across the street to a dive bar that was definitely more our speed. Brett ordered his very sophisticated drink order of a tequila and Sprite and I hustled him in a game of pool. We instantly connected through our love of travel, exploring every restaurant San Francisco had to offer, and embracing the spontaneous season of life we were in. By our third date, we were already on a weekend trip to Yosemite (& I was definitely hoping Brett wasn’t a serial killer). We spent the next few months falling in love with San Francisco and each other. But as you all know, we did not stay put for long. After San Francisco, we moved to Seattle and then to Chicago. We made so many new friends and had absolutely priceless experiences. Two years in, we decided it was time to call it quits on travel nursing and move somewhere to settle down a bit. Denver was somewhere we had both always wanted to live so it felt like an easy decision. All I will say is… four cross country moves has got to be a testament to the strength of our relationship. In January of 2025, Brett surprised himself (and everyone) by deciding to propose at the last minute while we were on a ski trip with friends in Breckenridge. He called his best friend, shout-out Sam, the night before and asked if he would be able to drive the ring to Breckenridge and help him execute his plan. Luckily, we have the BEST friends and it could not have been more perfect!! We are so grateful for everyone taking time to come celebrate our wedding! We have the best people in our lives and cannot wait to spend time with all of you <3
