Hi out of towners! The California coast holds a special place in our hearts, as it was our first road trip as a couple and Trisha grew up there. Here are our favorite places! 1. San Francisco - Explore North Beach, Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf (detailed SF recommendations below) - Cross the Golden Gate Bridge to Hawk Hill (Mt. Tam, Sausalito) - Visit Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz 2. Carmel & Monterey - Take the 17-Mile Drive through Pebble Beach - Visit Point Lobos State Natural Reserve 3. Yosemite (Inland) - Hike scenic trails like Yosemite Falls, Mist Trail or Half/Sentinel Dome (note: book early) 4. Big Sur -Drive Bixby Creek Bridge and watch the sunset at Pfeiffer Beach 5. Santa Barbara - Check out Santa Barbara Mission, State Street, East Beach and Butterfly Beach 6. Los Angeles - Visit the Getty Center, Venice Beach and Santa Monica - Hike the Hollywood sign / Universal Studios 7. San Diego - Visit Balboa Park, La Jolla, Old Town (tacos!) and Sunset Cliffs (views)
