Shea and Samuel met while celebrating the engagement of Samuel's sister, Audrey, and Shea's neighbor, Gregory, in Chagrin Falls. They started talking at the party and hit it off. He asked her on a date the next day and the rest was history.

Shea's family came in to town for what she thought was a birthday dinner for her brother. Little did she know, there would be a celebration, but not for her brother. Samuel had arranged for their families to be waiting for them at the Grandview Theater. Samuel brought Shea to the theater and waiting for her on the marquee was "Shea, will you marry me?- Sam". The celebration didn't stop there. After she said "yes," Shea again thought she was going to dinner with their families. Samuel surprised her again and had all of their friends waiting to celebrate them at Watershed Distillery.
