We met January 20th of 2019 at the Crow. A classmate of Kristin's from her master’s program, Liv, invited her out on a Sunday night. They met up with Bo, Logan, and was introduced to Sam. Sam and Kristin didn't talk much at first, Kristin was shy (shocker) and Sam was scaring her by playing a video of him getting tased in the police academy. All the sudden-we are still unsure this was intentional or not- Liv, Bo, and Logan excused themselves for the restroom. This left Kristin and Sam all by themselves at the table staring at each other. We made our way through some short conversations and pleasantries but with the help of a couple more cocktails, Kristin realized Sam wasn’t as scary as he seemed and Sam realized his worst nightmare-he was hitting it off with a west coast hippie.

Kristin was very excited to visit Ecker’s apple orchard and score some apples. The day started off with the couple working out at Iron Physique, ran into Kendra and Logan Lasack, and then headed out to Ecker’s. Once there, we picked up a bag to collect the apples in and our hunt began. Kristin had never picked apples at an orchard before but was already a professional and found way bigger apples than Sam. Sam offerred to put Kristin up on his shoulders, she started to climb on up but out her fear of heights, quickly decided against it and requested her feet to return to the earth immediatley. Once the bag was nearly full, Sam asked if there was room for one more. Kristin evaluated the bag and it was already pretty full but was hopeful to squeeze another apple in there. Sam meant something different though, “do you think we have room for this?” Sam asked as he dropped something shiny into the wet grass. Sam had apparently been carrying the ring loosely in his pocket without a box! (He was paranoid about it the whole time unbeknownst to Kristin) Kristin was unsure what he dropped but was trying to help him find whatever it was. Sam then spotted the ring on the ground in the wet grass, picked it up, removed a blade of grass from it, and asked Kristin to marry him. Kristin got the pick of the orchard that day!
