Our Story

Kailee met Sam during her final year of pharmacy school while completing a rotation in Wilmington, North Carolina. Staying with family at the time, she was invited by her cousin to a party where Sam happened to be. The two talked casually that night, but neither of them knew it would end up changing everything. A couple of weeks later, while at Kailee’s cousin’s engagement party, her cousin dared her to invite Sam out to the bar they were heading to that night. Kailee sent him a Snapchat, and in what now feels like a very important life decision, Sam literally turned his Uber around to come meet them out. The two spent the entire night talking, laughing, and getting to know each other. At some point in the night, Sam became very determined to convince Kailee that she should date him, promising her that if she did, he’d make her laugh for the rest of her life. Feeling confident, he even put three future dates into Kailee’s calendar for the following week. Unfortunately, he also had just enough to drink that he completely panicked about it the next morning and didn’t reach back out for another week or two. Even though the timing wasn’t exactly ideal, the connection between them was impossible to ignore. Kailee was only in Wilmington for four short weeks before moving back home and preparing for her new job in Florida after graduation, but somehow they made it work. According to Sam, in those 4 short weeks he knew he was going to marry her. Even with the distance, they never stopped talking. Kailee flew back to visit just two weeks later, and after a year of long distance, she moved back to Wilmington where the two have been together ever since. From spontaneous Snapchats and turned-around Ubers to long distance and building a life together, their relationship has always been full of laughter, fun, and a little bit of chaos — exactly the way they like it.
