Samuel and I first met in pre-K at First United Methodist Church in Searcy. Little did I know that he would be my husband one day. We were even in the same classes multiple times after pre-K. It was not until tenth grade that he caught my attention and I am so thankful he did! ~Delaney Delaney has been around me for my entire life. We shared the same town, schools, teachers, and even friends growing up. However, it wasn’t until the tenth grade in biology class when I talked to her for the first time ever. That first conversation led me to getting to know her much, much better. Sometimes I wish I had gotten to know her so much sooner. But I have her now and I always will, and for that, I couldn’t be more grateful. ~Samuel
I planned a surprise trip to New Orleans with both of our families for Christmas. The plan was to celebrate my sister's birthday and go to the Steelers & Saints game. While in New Orleans, I showed Sam some of my favorite spots since it was his first time. Sam spontaneously took us on a streetcar ride across New Orleans. Little did I know, he was actually scoping out a park that he had spent hours looking at online. He told me he "really wanted to see it in person." The next day, the two of us went to New Orleans' historical Audubon Park. As we walked around looking at the gorgeous landscape, I could tell something was a little off (turns out he was very nervous). Under a tree, he got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I wish I could relive that day over and over. ~Delaney This past Christmas, Delaney gifted me a trip to New Orleans to watch the Steelers & Saints game. The first full night on the town, we ventured onto the St. Charles streetcar. Delaney thought it was just out of spontaneity, but there was a purpose for that streetcar ride: this streetcar passed by a park I was wanting to take Delaney to that next day to propose. The following afternoon, we took an Uber to that same park, and I asked her to marry me under a beautiful oak tree that no story could properly describe. The joy of that day is still bottled up in that memory that we will never forget. ~Samuel
